There is no cloud crawler behind Refore Scout and no hosted session to set up. The extension does the looking on your machine, signed in as you already are.
No logins to hand over
Refore Scout never asks for a password, an API key or a cookie for any site. There is nothing of yours for it to store, sync or leak.

Every check happens on your machine, in your browser, using the sessions you are already signed into. Scout sees what you can see — nothing more.

How it works
Discovering by keywords

1. Say what you're after
A few keywords, or a sentence describing what counts as a match, plus the sites worth covering. That is the whole setup.

2. Refore Scout sweeps the sites
On a schedule, it runs those searches in your own browser — the same results you would see yourself — and keeps only what it has not shown you before.

3. Review, promote, dismiss
Matches queue up ranked by relevance and freshness. Promote the good ones into full watches with one click; what you dismiss never comes back.
Watching a block you picked

1. Pick what to watch
Click the extension on any page. A detected post can be watched as-is; anything else you pick by clicking the block you care about.

2. Confirm it reads correctly
Refore Scout takes the first sample right away and shows you the numbers it found, so you know the watch works before you walk away from it.

3. It checks on its own schedule
Fresh posts are checked every 15 minutes, older ones hourly, then every six hours. Any watch can be pinned to your own interval instead.

4. You see only what moved
New replies reach you through system notifications, Telegram, Feishu or any webhook, with email on the way. Everything else waits on the dashboard with an unread marker and its Δ1d / Δ7d change.

Delta cards, not raw numbers
Every card leads with the number that matters and the change over the last day and week. Repeated events collapse into one line.
Unread markers
Anything that moved since you last looked is flagged. Open it once and it clears, so a quiet week costs you nothing to read.

Every check keeps a snapshot. Compare any two points in time and see exactly which lines changed.

Before you ask
- Do I have to give Scout my logins?
- Never. Refore Scout simply does the looking for you, inside your own browser. You never hand it account details for any site, so it has none to store, sync or lose.
- Does it keep checking when Chrome is closed?
- No. Checks resume when you next open the browser, and anything that came due while it was closed is caught up then.
- Where does my data go?
- Into this browser. Watches, snapshots and history never leave the machine unless you export them yourself. Notifications go only to the channels you set up.
- Do I need an account?
- Yes. Refore Scout runs on a free Refore account, and while it is invite-only you also need an invite code — request one and we will send it by email.
- Will sites block or ban me?
- Refore Scout is built to behave like a diligent human, not a crawler: conservative default intervals, one page at a time, hard caps on how much it reads. If a site pushes back anyway, Scout stops checking that site and tells you, rather than trying to sneak past.
- Which sites does it work on?
- Any page you can open in your browser, public or behind your login. Hacker News, GitHub, V2EX, Juejin and Discourse forums also get faster API-level checks out of the box.
